How to leave Podpage and keep your podcast where it is
Podpage never held your podcast. It reads the RSS feed from your host and builds a site from it. That makes switching simple: your feed and audio stay with your host, and PodRewind reads the same feed.
What you own
Your audio and RSS feed live with your podcast host, not Podpage. Podpage says it "hosts your website and displays the episodes from your RSS feed, but it does not host the feed itself." Source
Getting your content out of Podpage
- Podpage’s help center has no export or download article in its Episodes or Account & Billing sections. Transcripts you pasted into Podpage live in each episode’s Transcript field (Episodes, All Episodes, Edit), so copy any you want to keep from there. (Podpage help)
- To cancel, open Billing from your account at the bottom of the dashboard sidebar and click Cancel Plan next to your active plan, then follow the prompts. (Podpage help)
- Your subscription stays active to the end of the billing period. The site then stops being public but is not deleted, and you can reactivate it from billing. (Podpage help)
- To delete the site entirely, email Podpage support with the subject "Account Deletion Request", your login email and the sites to delete. (Podpage help)
Bringing your show into PodRewind
1. Start at podrewind.com/onboard
Search for your show by name or paste the RSS feed URL your host gives podcast apps. No audio files are uploaded.
2. Let the episodes transcribe
PodRewind reads episodes from the feed and transcribes them with timestamps and named speakers. Free covers 5 episodes per feed; Creator or Pro covers the full back catalog (PodRewind pricing).
3. Open your archive
Episodes publish to yourshow.podrewind.com with a page per episode and a single search box across every transcript. On the Pro plan, the archive can live on your own domain.
What carries over
- Your episodes, titles, artwork and audio, because PodRewind reads them from the same feed Podpage used.
- Transcripts are written fresh by PodRewind for every episode it covers, with named speakers. Nothing is copied from Podpage automatically.
- Podpage page designs, custom pages and settings do not carry over. There is no Podpage importer.
Before you cancel
- Add your feed to PodRewind first and check the archive while the Podpage site is still live.
- Copy any transcripts or notes you typed into Podpage by hand, since they are not in your feed.
- If a custom domain points at Podpage, plan the DNS change at your registrar; on PodRewind, your own domain is a Pro feature.
- Podpage offers a pause of up to three months in the cancel flow if you want a fallback while you try the switch (podpage.com).
Questions answered
Do I need to change podcast hosts to leave Podpage?
No. Podpage does not host your feed, so your host, your feed URL and your listings in podcast apps stay exactly as they are.
Will my Podpage transcripts come across?
Not automatically. PodRewind writes new transcripts from the audio. Copy any you pasted into Podpage if you want to keep them.
Can I run both while I decide?
Yes. Both read the same feed, so the PodRewind archive can go live next to your Podpage site.
