How to leave Beamly and keep your podcast where it is
Beamly either syncs your feed from another host or hosts the podcast itself. If it syncs from another host, switching is simple: PodRewind reads the same feed. If Beamly hosts it, moving hosts is a separate job to plan first.
What you own
Beamly’s pricing FAQ says you own your content, paid subscriptions, domain and customer data, and that you are never locked in. Source
Getting your content out of Beamly
Beamly publishes no export guide. Ask their support for a copy of what you need before you cancel; here is a message you can send. This applies if Beamly hosts your podcast, because its public pages do not publish steps for moving the feed out.
Hi, I am planning to move my podcast off Beamly. Please send me an export of my episode audio, transcripts, posts and member list, and tell me how to redirect my RSS feed to a new host so subscribers follow it.
- Beamly’s pricing FAQ says: "Contact us in case you need anything exported from your account and we will gladly help out." Ask for a copy of your transcripts, posts and member list before you cancel. (Beamly help)
- Cancel from your account dashboard. The site stays accessible to the end of the current billing cycle and is suspended after that. (Beamly help)
- Beamly can keep your existing host and sync episodes from it. If that is your setup, your feed never moved and there is nothing to export for PodRewind to read it. (Beamly help)
Bringing your show into PodRewind
1. Start at podrewind.com/onboard
Search for your show by name or paste the RSS feed URL your host gives podcast apps. No audio files are uploaded.
2. Let the episodes transcribe
PodRewind reads episodes from the feed and transcribes them with timestamps and named speakers. Free covers 5 episodes per feed; Creator or Pro covers the full back catalog (PodRewind pricing).
3. Open your archive
Episodes publish to yourshow.podrewind.com with a page per episode and a single search box across every transcript. On the Pro plan, the archive can live on your own domain.
What carries over
- Episodes, titles and artwork, read from your feed by PodRewind.
- Transcripts are written fresh by PodRewind. Beamly transcripts, including any speaker names you edited, do not come across automatically.
- Memberships, courses and products stay with Beamly; PodRewind does not sell memberships.
Before you cancel
- Check where your feed is hosted. If it is on Beamly, sort out hosting before you cancel.
- Request the export from Beamly support while your account is active.
- Add your feed to PodRewind and check the archive before the Beamly site is suspended.
- Tell members how paid content will be delivered after the move.
Questions answered
Does PodRewind host podcasts?
No. PodRewind reads the RSS feed from wherever your podcast is hosted. If Beamly hosts your show, you need a podcast host before you leave.
Can I export transcripts from Beamly?
Beamly says to contact them for anything you need exported. Its pages do not publish a self-serve export.
What happens to my Beamly site when I cancel?
It stays up to the end of the billing cycle and is then suspended, according to its pricing FAQ.
