PodRewind for educators
Lecture series, course podcasts and teaching shows are meant to be returned to. Students come back looking for a single explanation, not a whole episode. PodRewind makes every episode readable and searchable, so they find the part they need.
Sound familiar?
- A student remembers the explanation but not which week it was in.
- Audio alone is hard to skim, quote or study from.
- Guest lecturers and co-hosts blur together in a plain transcript.
- Course notes and episode summaries take time you don’t have.
What changes with PodRewind
- Transcripts
Transcripts give every episode a readable text version, with timestamps, that students can study from.
- Search
Search across every episode lets a student type a concept and jump straight to where it was explained.
- Timestamps
Timestamps are clickable, so a reading list can link to the exact minute of an explanation.
- Speaker names
Speaker names separate the lecturer from guests and questions from the room.
- Show notes
Show notes summarize each episode as a study aid, drafted on the Creator plan and generated for every episode on the Pro plan.
Your first hour
- Add the course feed at podrewind.com/onboard.
- Check speaker names on the first episodes and fix any that are wrong.
- Search for a concept from this week’s class and copy the moment link into your course page.
- Share the archive link with students.
Plans
PodRewind is free for 5 episodes per feed; Creator ($19/mo) and Pro ($39/mo) cover the full back catalog, with the first 1,000 hours of older episodes included and $0.20 per hour past that (PodRewind pricing). If you want to try it on a single lecture recording first, the free transcription tool works without an account. Compare plans

Questions answered
Can students use it without an account?
Yes. The public archive and its search are open to anyone with the link. You can switch off search-engine indexing if the course should stay out of search results.
Does it work for lectures that are not a public podcast?
PodRewind reads episodes from an RSS feed. For a single recording, the free transcription page takes an upload and returns a transcript.
Can I download transcripts?
Yes. Transcripts download as TXT, SRT, VTT or DOCX from each episode.
