What are Libsyn's plans?

There are four published plans and two quoted ones. Bare Essentials ($8/mo) is the entry tier sold at signup. Basic ($12/mo) covers 3 hours of new audio uploads a month with basic IAB Verified Stats and YouTube video distribution. Advanced ($25/mo) raises that to 10 hours and adds advanced stats, stats exports, Spotify video distribution, and a social calendar. Max ($150/mo) allows 55 hours a month for high-volume publishing. Professional and Enterprise are quoted individually and add dynamic ad insertion, API access, unlimited storage, and a network RSS feed. All plans include video uploads up to 100GB a month, roughly 50 hours.

Does Libsyn have a free plan or trial?

There is no free forever plan, but every Libsyn plan starts with 30 days free. Libsyn asks for a card at signup and does not charge until the trial ends, and you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from account settings. No promo code is needed.

Is Libsyn cheaper than Buzzsprout?

It depends which end you compare. Buzzsprout has a free plan (2 hours of uploads a month, episodes hosted for 90 days) and Libsyn has none. What happens if I go over my upload limit?

The allowance covers new content only, and it resets on the 1st of each month. Files from previous months archive automatically, stay in your feed, and stop counting against the quota, so you never delete old episodes to make room. What counts is everything you upload in the calendar month: episode audio plus extras such as images and PDFs. Video is metered separately, at up to 100GB a month on every plan. Libsyn does not publish an overage rate, so the route past the limit is moving up a plan: 3 hours on Basic, 10 on Advanced, 55 on Max.

Is Libsyn worth it?

Libsyn suits shows that publish on a predictable schedule and want a host that has run since 2004. Upload-hour pricing means a large audience never costs more, archived episodes are free to keep, and video is included on every plan. Against that: no free tier, no automatic transcription, only 3 upload hours a month on the $12 Basic plan, and no published overage rate if you exceed it.
